Title: Deep Space
Name: Alexander Preuss
Country: Germany
Software: 3ds max, Photoshop

This Image was the result of my last few evenings.
I tried to catch up the mood of grand space... and i was thinking about how small we are? ... how tiny our planet is... and how unimportand all our problems are out there ?!
This is a fun image because i like it a lot to paint clouds and nebula shapes, so i ditnīt expect much feedback. But i hope you like it anyway. ;)
The freighter in the front was done in 3DS-max in two hours and overpainted in PS.
The rest is handpainted in Photoshop with a wacom-tablet.
Some details in ultra-res (6400x2000)

Nice work, I like it. Nice and soft to look at, like your composition.

The only thing that bothers me is that the angle is so far out, the lighting so dim at the viewers position that your attention and interest get drowned in the black. Even the white hot point gets lost in the ink. Maybe add a little engine flare to the ship to bring the eye to the foreground.

It does get your idea across, the peace and immensity of space (and all its philosophical implications). It does bring to mind for me how I wish we were far enough along that everyone could take a trip in space & calm down, down here :hmm:

Anyways, great stuff :)

Beautiful work! Very well painted. I have to agree with plastik, though, it does need something to tie the two halves of the painting together. Still, its a fantastic piece.:thumbsup:

Zapan :: Hi Partner, nice to see you in here! thanks a lot 4 your words!

Squibbit :: Squibbitdubudidubidu! :D Thanks Dude!

Gunilla :: Thanks my friend

zpapageo :: Thank you! I keep your critique in mind

plastik892 :: Thanks 4 your critique... i know what you mean.... I will try to describe you a similar environment:
Letīs say itīs 5PM in the Morning, itīs very Fogy, only a few laterns are illuminating the environment but they are not strong enough to break through the nebula, you can only catch up some gray glows in a dark environment. Itīs very cold and you feel lost.
Back to space: ;)
The ship in the front is outside the nebula, but the sun... the only lightsource is far far away behind the nebula and he is loosing her strength breaking through the nebula... from this perspective itīs a very dark and lonly place.

I donīt wanted to create some of theese tacky space picks with overcolored nebulars in pink and blue. I wanted to create a image where you can feel the lonlyness out there!

nethertheless...thank you a lot 4 your great and constructive feedback.
alfy :: :DTHANKS!

Cheers :beer: Alex
