Are there any plugins for XSI giving it the mouse gesture system? Or any settings?

Oh and what brought this up is Im trying to figure out a quick button/way to deselect all in softimage|3d selection mode.

God I hope not. Mouse gestures are the kinds of foul evil things that should be torn asunder and their component parts rent unto the deepest darkest depths of hades there to spend an eternity of suffering along with their inventor at the hands of the devil and his minions see if i dont!

what's wrong with mouse gestures? that's one of the things about maya I actually like.

I always find them a hinderance in Firefox and other apps I've tried them in... oops, I moved the mouse to much to the right picking up my tablet... undo.

Thankfully you can turn them off. Never tried them in Maya though. Maybe I just never got the knack for them.

Maya's aren't what i'd call gestures though to be honest. there's no specific shape to form, nothing more than dragging in the direction of the element you wish to select from the marking menu. it's a huge difference between what is essentially a menu system (with a slight delay inbetween clicking and the menu showing), and real mouse gestures.

I'd argue that they're simple mouse gestures. yeah, they have limits to how far you have to go, but after you get so fast at them that you just forget it's basically the exact same thing. shift-right click up up left - select contained faces.

personally wouldn't call the hotbox or marking menus gestures, as they are based on interface areas and button down/up detection, and not on pattern recognition. Beside the argument about what is a gesture or what is not though, no, no mouse gestures in XSI and no plugins to offer them.

What I would really like to see in a future version of XSI is pie menus or even sub menus (like Max) to make it a bit easier to find things in the right click menus.
