Hullo everybody. I've been doing some research on rendering human characters. I am using some sort of hybrid between HDRI and directional ligths to get the "look" correct. This is what I have so far. It's not 100% photorealistic but I think that human photorealism is somewhat impossible up to some extent... unless I was ILM or Sony....

And here's a turntable: http://www.digital-opaque.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2006/01/womanforest_turntable_hair.wmv

The model is not mine so no critics on the big butt or slim waist pliz.

What do you think?

the "sheen" on the skin looks to be to harsh on her thighs, maybe adjusting some of the falloff attibutes on the material. also are you using any form of SSS? i'm not saying that at this distance it would be necessary, but it might :)

are you trying to achieve the look straight out of the renderer? i personally wouldn't and break it up into layers and comp it, but that is just me.

good luck
happy researching

Thanks ;)
I will check that "sheen". I am already using layered render to get this look, and yes, I am using a little bit of SSS. Don't know if I would need any more
I even tried removing the SSS layer and I got this horrible "plastic-manekin" look, LOL :applause:
