View Full Version : Global Illminaton Scene
Kaiser_Sose 12-09-2002, 04:52 PM It is not the rage like it used to be but I want to make a render of an object to produce that grey statuate feeling
I know this involves turning on Global Illumination and radiosity but what else is involved
What is need in the scene besides the floor and object ... what kind of lights, ect ...
Any links, scene files, besides the skydome on the newtek site

I personally have 3 lights with ambient intensity completely turned off....3 Light= Key Light int=15-25% yellowish but more whiteish......Fill Light int=10-20% yellowish color....and Back light int=5-15% light blueish....I use interpolation with a ray bounce of 3 and I cache radiosity with noise reduced shadows on....hope this helps...if you have any questions PM me....

Or the good old stand by and quicker method of adding a Iage Word Environment to the scene and rendering with Background Only in the radiosity. this is pretty quick. also with radiosity enabled, ambient light only affects diffused shadoes so tweaking is real easy.

Looks like default grey or close to it to me. Since there are shadows in the scene there is definately a light somewhere. :p I mean rather then just the global illumination that will not give you shadows that go across the object... (usually only just fuzzy shadows right below the object.)
