View Full Version : Could need some help with a certain Light effect.
rsalonen 03-02-2002, 04:13 AM Hi everyone!
I got this scene I'm working where the camera is in a pretty dark room pointing to a door. The door should be half open and lead to the outside where the sun shines. What I want to do is that effect that when you just open a door from a being in a dark room all you see is white strong light, until your eyes got used to the light.
How would I make that kind of light fomr the door?
Would be very appreciated if someone could give me a little tip on this :)

you can key the lights color and intensity ; from white and high to blueish and lower.
make sure that you also have another light in the room to simulate the bouncing light effect.
hope that helps

Yes yes, exacly like that....thou that movie is made with Max, but ofcourse it can be made in Maya, somehow...still have to prepare the scene before I will try out any lightning.

I think a better approach rather than key framing the lighting
is to use the glow parameter in the shader and key that up and down

:) i think like you psumo. other way is to make it in postproducction, with your favorite composing program, with a mask. here you can play with "levels" to make the room more dark or ligth when you see outside the door.
