View Full Version : Maya fluids question
Kabab 12-09-2002, 07:55 AM I have a character walking through a horizontal 2D fluid container with colisions on.
The character moves the fluids out of the way but it doesn't swirl around its legs as expect.
I've tried playing with heaps of setting and can't find anything in the doc's.
I know you can do it with particles but i want to do this in fluids for practice etc...
Thanks....

maybe you'll have to increase the 'friction' settings for the collision, so that the fluid sticks more to the model before evaporating away from it ?!

Yeah i tried that doesn't make much difference the character sorta just moves aside the fluids and leaves an open area its asif there is not enough velocity to get them moving.

perhaps some kind of interparticle gravity? cause the particles to pull toward each other... filling in the gaps...

Try playing with the Velocity Swirl setings. This will help get the effect you're after. Also, try adjusting the velocity settings on the swirl, gravity settings, etc.

Try to parent a pair of newton fields to the legs of your character... ;)
