This will be my first post here in the Gallery forum. It's modeled and textured with Lightwave using Subpatches and Procedural textures. More of an "object study" than anything else.

Looking for some comments on it! :wavey:

Pretty cool but you have that GI overblown to the max!
You might want to try placing planes(poly types)around it to block some of the background radience.
Either that or turn down the background color to a light gray or something.
Cool model though and love the textures.

Good point! I seem to have tendency to overdo the general illumination...
here is another version of it.

nice texturing:) my only crit would be the contrast between light and dark lighting in your scene. It just seems a little off. Try a few more lights on low intensity positioned around the nade to give it more of a GI look, and not so direct. cool nontheless:thumbsup:

funny how in my head i saw a still of a handgernade as being in the air tossed without pin with lots of movement in the backround or on the ground in a hand with the pin still in with the hand covernd in mud and stuff.. meh Its nice still :D

The top part of the grenade looks really nice, with the scratches and all. But I think the body of it is too bumpy. It looks like it is rusted over. And I doubt the army would use a rusted grenade! ;)

looks ok. Having never seen a grenade, I can't help you with achiving the right "look"

good work...I love the way you modelled it and the way u textured it....I've held a real grenade once and that is exactly what it looked like....The bumpmapping on the model is just right
