We are currently looking to hire a Senior Visual FX Artist on an upcoming high-profile title. Artist will contribute to the creation of the look and feel of the visual content in our console games by being responsible for the majority of all visual FX. Skills required are as follows: solid modeling, texture painting, uv mapping and animation skills. Experience in Maya or equivalent 3D packages creating real-time visual effects with game engine technologies. All candidates must submit a demo reel, CD/DVD or URL of recent artwork.
Qualifications:
· 7 years professional art experience.
Experience with Maya for a least 5+ years
Experience with particle systems, dynamics, complex shaders (texture effects), lighting effects, and animation
Experience creating real time FX for Video Games - both 2D and 3D effects using proprietary game engine technologies
Ability to quickly prototype render these effects in Maya as pre-visualization
Must have shipped a minimum of 3 video game titles Playstation 2,PC, Xbox Game cube
Formal art education, BFA from an accredited art/design school preferred
Pluses:
Proven track record shipping games
Strong interest in games
Strong traditional drawing and painting skills
Demonstrated ability in providing art critiques, both visual and verbal
Excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbal and visual
Sample Work Required:
All artist applicants must submit the following:
Demo reel DVD/VHS/CD or website with samples
Explanation of submission, what you were responsible for, what tools were used, etc.
