This year the SCEE devstation on the 1st and 2nd of March is featureing an art content thread. where as in the past these events have focused on support for programmers we recognise that as consoles advance and new tools are developed there is a need to give the same support to artists as well.

The conference features presentation from SCEE's technical artists and there will also be the opportunity to see presentations from graphics software companies Max, Maya and Softimage. Artists often don't get to attend the large industry events so this is a good opportunity to learn about the new tools being developed for PS3 and talk directly with the people who make the programmes we all use.

There are also evening events and entertainment that will give you the opportunity to talk to us and to other artists, to share ideas and experiences and to ask questions in an informal environment.

For more information follow the link above.

Thanks for the link..

I did hear this was taking place, I just saw it in today's Develop when I read your post! Coincidence perhaps? :surprised

I will suggest it to the 'suits', and maybe, just maybe the artist's will get to be unchained from Maya for a day? :wavey:

Oh, what kind/s of shaders will you talking about?

CG?
Software specific? (MR/SLIM/XSI?)
Custom Ps2 specific Procedurals for real time?

I understand if you can't answer, but I (and others) would be interested to know.

Thanks!

The presentations have been aimed at artists but anyone who attends the conference can go to any of the talks they want to see.

Emma- You have PM.

*Edit- no you dont. You have turned your PM's off.

Fwiw- My firm is a valid Development licensee.

Emma will present a session on shaders and materials. is a pretty broad statement.. ;)
I just wanted to know exactly what your talk will cover so I can badger the lead artist here about it and maybe get a chance to have a day away to come along and check it out...
