Do you have expert lighting skills that can light up our universe in the exciting Starcraft Ghost console game? Fans worldwide are eagerly anticipating the release of this deeply artistic game from the award winning games company, Blizzard Entertainment but we need your lighting help first to take this game even further!

Based out of sunny Irvine – a stone’s throw from Newport Beach and 40 miles south of LA, Blizzard Entertainment's track record includes nine #1-selling games, multiple Game of the Year awards and most recently has topped the 5 million mark for online game subscribers – the largest multi-massive online roll-playing game (MMORPG) World of Warcraft.

In this dynamic and growing environment, Blizzard’s console team is looking for an experiencedLighting Artist with a strong background in color theory, composition and training in cinematic lighting. The ideal candidate has shipped multiple titles and has a solid grasp of radiosity, per pixel lighting, and experience with 3D engines.

Responsibilities

* Utilize your creative and efficient lighting skills to help shape the look and mood of Starcraft Ghost
* Lighting 3D levels for not only the PS2 but also the Xbox console
* Some light geometry modification
* Some light material modification
* Work with Art Leads to achieve compelling aesthetics
* Particle FX work

Requirements

* 3 + years professional game development
* 2 + years professional 3D Studio Max experience
* Strong understanding of color theory
* Experience composing a shot
* Experience conveying mood through lighting
* Film or fine art training
* Ability to communicate artistic ideas verbally and though execution
* Experience with the PS2 and Xbox
* Particle development experience
* Strong enthusiasm for Lighting
* Work well both independently and with direction
* Love for Games

This is a full-time position in Irvine, CA; internships and part-time positions are not available at this time.
