Hey everyone,
Has anyone tried saving motions from Motion Mixer yet? I'm having this problem where I go and save a motion, but no file is generated. Has anyone come across this problem?

I have saved motions lots with no troubles. Are you sure you're looking in the right directory? Apart from that I can't think what might be causing the problem

Perhaps if you list the steps you're taking...

Here's what I do:
Generate a motion in MM.
Then go to the Motion Menu and "Save motion"
It looks as though it saves the file, in a folder I specify, but when I go into the folder, there is nothing there. I have tried saving the motion with the ".hmot" typed in the name also cause I thought maybe MM wasn't reading a file cause there was no extention. But the file, it seems, isn't even being generated. Not sure what is going on.

I usually save hmots in my scenes directory. First thing I'd try is saving to a different directory than the one you've tried... dunno folder might be read only or something...

The only other thing I can suggest is re-installing 7.5, as the plug may have become corrupt??? But if it's doing everything else right, then that's prolly not it.

Just noticed something odd...the files are being made, but they are automatically being saved to my c://documentsandsettings/john folder. And MM is naming the files "John.hmot". This is bizarre.

Excellent :) Well at least you can work around the problem till you solve it... just copy the hmot to where you want it and rename,

If I told my girlfriend it was doing this to me she'd prolly say my ego was somehow causing it... Course if that was the case they'd be named "god.hmot" :p

Well thanks for the help Kretin. I must say I've had my fair share of problems with lightwave bugs, but nothing like this
oh well

Well, when I got to work, I tried out MM ( I'm having the problem at home ) and it worked fine. We run windowsNT at work. At home I have windows 2000pro. Seems like MM will only allow me to save MM files in my c:/documentsandsetttings folder. Sigh...I guess another reinstall of Lightwave I suppose. I swear, if I have to reinstall this software one more time...I'm gonna have a stroke. :p
