Any recomendations for dual head video cards for LW8/9? I am looking to spend under $300.00 CAD.

Or, are 2 single cards better than one dual head card?

Thanks.

Really any nVidia card made in the last 3 or 4 years will do fine. ATI might be ok too if they've gotten their act together re drivers, they used to have problems with 3d apps.

A single card works great with dual monitors, I've been using a single card for years and never noticed a speed penalty compared to two cards. I keep a super-cheap dual-head Geforce MX440 as a backup and the one time I had to use it there were no issues with speed, and that's a $40 card. The newer OpenGL options in LW8.5 might choke that card, but you can always turn them off. Newer cards like the 6x00 and 7x00 series should have no trouble at all with the fancy features turned on.

I have an ATI 9600 with dual head and it works fine with Lightwave...sometime ago it had some issues with selecting points but that was corrected. So now everything works fine...I just hope Lightwave could be more easy to setup with two monitors. Like modo...
