Blur reflection with mental ray renderer

hello,

you can just put the metal(lume) material in the reflection map slot and turn on blur reflections. Turn down the overall reflection amount so that it's not too reflective.

then you can control the amount of blur through the spread spinner and the quality of the blur through the samples spinner.

you can play around with this. hope it works.

or do just as jeff says. the advice i suggested came from the "man of mental ray" anyway.

thanks to jeff for all the great research he (and his fellow fighters) has done. i know i have learned most what i know form this thread.
