Using max 7.

Im unwrapping pants using a cylindrical uvmap and a unwrap modifier above, but my UVs are all distorted, its unworkable. Should i use a cylinder map in the first place or simply extract all my UVs piece by piece (planar maps)

Does someone has a better solution when it comes to Unwrap pants.

my suggestion: tweak the placement of the cylinder projector until you get something better and then just manually reshape the UVs if you need to. Don't forget to use the Tools>Relax dialog once you're in the Edit UVWs dialog either, that always helps with texture stretching. I don't see any real need to do multiple planars unless you really can't get something good out of the cylindrical though, would probably spend more time dealing with the planars than you would just adjusting manually in the unwrap, maybe not, to each their own, just do whatever works for you, as long as you get the job done.
