hi guyz

i need a nice round hole (actually 5 of them) exactly at the place like on the screen... i tried some procedures already. the one of them was a boolean (sticked a cylinder through and substracted)

but it wasnt that perfect..

a) I've got a lot of new faces while useing a more subdivided cylinder (whats logical) or
b) if I used less subdivided cylinder - after the smooth it wasnt realy a round hole anymore...

is there a trick or some procedure that is a good compromise?

and the poly right over the circle isnt a triangle!!! its a quad...

thank u very much for any hints

Hey buddy. Right what I'd do is create an edgeloop as shown in red in the picture below. This gives you a few more points to play with when creating your hole.
Now delete the two faces over the hole, and then get a six sided poly cylinder, delete all but the top face, and move into position. Combine the two objects, and then just fill in the missing polygons. For a really nice hole, when you've filled in the missing polys, bevel in the middle face a little. If you're smoothing the object, which i assume you are, this makes the edge of the hole a little sharper.

Hope this helps,

Cheers,
