Hey there guys... I'm about to undertake my first short which will be featuring outdoor scenes. I need to do a plane type scene with some rocky outcrops.

Any advice or liknks to the folowing:

Texturing and modelling sky
Texturing and modelling BG elements (for fast rendering)
modelling ground that is uneven.
Texturing that...
trees?

and anything else that may come to mind since most of you guys have done this sort of thing.

Hello,

I don't know tutorials, you can always visit sites like www.turbosquid.com or www.3dcafe.com . Try to google tutorials on texturing too.

Here's a tip though : there are some foliage that come with 3dsmax. Go to the create panel, click on the drop down arrow where it says standard primitives, and pick "AEC extended". There you will find some premade trees that you can customize a little bit, it's no way an extensive list but it can help you.

Good luck.
