I've been quite busy the last time but today I had time to continue, so here's an update(better late than never):
Edit: the lighting is very basic and is absolutly not final and I haven't started to work on the hills in the background

I've added a flower lying on the bench and some rocks a little everywhere.
Any changes before I start texturing?
I'm sorry for the low quality of the image.

I really like the style of the house but perhaps the second render is a little too busy

I don't know, I think I can remove some of the busy look by making the textures(everything being in the same color doesn't really help) and by making a different lighting, I might remove some of the leaves behind the latern
edit: I didn't change very much between these images

Hi Bjotto,
I think the picture would be better without the bushes in front. Its seems like you have brushes on both sides of a path towards the entrance door. I think it would be better to leave the bushes on the right side of the path behind, or replace the bushes to the right side of the image, as this makes a better frame for the mushroom.
But great image!
Cheers,

the house looks great!
I think to make the outside look less busy you should maybe make the grass much softer and shorter. It would give it more of a fantasy look, if thats what your going for:shrug:

I think the top of the house curls under a bit too much... compare it to the drawing. It seems to be losing a bit of the "mushroomness" of the original. In the drawing, you can see up into the underside more; it's instantly recognizable as a mushroom. In the 3D rendering, I'm not sure I would immediately know what it is.

Bbelieve it or not, another update:
I changed the lighting but it's still not final, the final should be more mood giving

now there's some different colours in there it's starting to get seperated out and not looking so cluttered and confusing.
Keep up the great work

The clouds might be a touch out of style with the rest, but a good idea to get way from the complete ideality.
The close grass looks great but I think the hills might have been better off without complete covering of grass, just like hand placed patches od it.
Really beautiful!

I've rendered it all and started to combine it in photoshop and now I need some other clouds, it looks awful with the fog and haze, at the moment I'm using some kind of gradient with som painted variation, I'll post it soon. Please post out your ideas on the clouds everyone

I like the clouds as they are. Gives it a slightly sinister edge and stops it being to cutesy.

exceptional piece of work. I love the lighting. Could you say a few things about the lighting of the scene an compositing of the clouds and fog?
PS: I liked the other clouds better, or if you stick with these clouds, you could give the grass on the foreground a similar painted feeling as the clouds (since they take up a large part of the scene), and make the quality of the grass match the quality of the mushroom house and that little flower on the right (i completely love that)

there are 7 lights in total, one spot for each hill in the background. 4 spots pointing at the mushroomhouse. they were colored from yellow to blue. Also one yellow/orange point in the latern
looks great! by the way you should change your sig now to 'check my wip and finished post' :)
thought i would post a direct link to anyone who wants the finished work post the house at the end of the morning (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=35856) ...
