View Full Version : beginner XSI Material question
Otter2k 12-01-2002, 06:17 PM I am making the switch from Maya to XSI and I was wondering when I create a material and assign it to an object. How do I assign this material to another piece of geometry that I have created? So basically, I know how to assign or create a material and assign it to an object. I just can't assign that same material to a 2nd object. Any help would be great!
thx,
Otter

i hope you read my reply earlier, for some reason, it's been deleted. anyways, i am goign to say it again.
You can save it as a preset and load it back in the other object.
go to your rendertree, look for your meterial node. open it. on the top right connect hit save. give it a name. and open the meterial node on the other object. hit load. boom.. that's it.

If the ojbects are in the same scene, you can Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the material in your Explorer view.
I hope this help you
