Looks like an excellent start! I like the color scheme alot, you just need to build it up. Some things look transparent (ie. figure, some elements of the docking bay) also the piece could use more detail overall, really push the values, make the darks darker. Also some of the way the platforms meet don't look functional. Practicality is a big consideration in making something seem believable or not. Good work, I think with a little work this could be a four or five star piece!

I think the "nonfunctional" platforms scubasteve mentioned can be enhanced if you really wanna keep them. If u pimp those platforms with satelite dishes for example.....*poof* they will "make sense" all of a sudden. I really like your colors so far. I think one aspect u can really build up here is size. The mountain in the back could appear huge, if you would add something to the water like a gigant serpentlike monster far away, surfacing for air or something. Just a tought. Also a pack of "transport" bots or crafts would help make this thing realistic, since the spaceship is kinda lonely in there. How did it get there? What kinda devices could do such a job? There is a lot of space for extreme detail. U know those little "spotlightlines" on the ground in airplanes they use to light the way to the emergency exit? They could make a lot of sense here, since you find those things on rollways (is that the correct word for the long way a plane starst from? :D sorry my english is not the best.) anyway.

Thanks to you also Daniel for an excellent comment. You had some really nice points and I will think them out :) I'm in fact building a city far back there where the 'mountainish' scribble is now.

updated the image slightly, adjusted the contrast and added some detail. Didin't work on anything big yet because it's getting kind of late and i need alot of time when I really start working.
