View Full Version : XSI material question??
Otter2k 12-01-2002, 06:11 PM I am making the switch from Maya to XSI and I was wondering when I create a material and assign it to an object. How do I assign this material to another piece of geometry that I have created? So basically, I know how to assign or create a material and assign it to an object. I just can't assign that same material to a 2nd object. Any help would be great!
thx,
Otter ;)

you can copy the shader branch from render tree and paste it into the other objects render tree and make the connections.
Or you can group the objects and apply the material. than the material applies to all the objects in the group.
There might be an easier way , but i am a newbie too so i dont know :)

It's easier to use groups, but copying the material works just fine too.
another quick easy way is in explorer view, to ctrl-drag the material node onto another object
