very nice render, maybe a little motion blur is in order? apart from that great work

that looks fantastic, you runnin 9.5 and use the sky module, havent used it myself yet, but i just got 9.5, but anyway, this looks great

Nice model and good textures so far.
But i think there's still to much bump in it.
Perhaps u should change it ;)

Why is there smoke coming from the wings?

Why does everyone think motion blur needs to be on aircraft renders? Lets assume his camera is traveling the same speed as the aircraft.. hence, no motion blur.
And the smoke coming from the wing tips is possible on most fighter jets, its mostly used for signal reasons in Red & Green smoke, but white is possible.
Nice render!
i think an extra ambient occlusion map would be nice...

very nice picture!
2 things (in my humble opinion):
- the fighters look a bit too clean. get some noise or grain on them. (ambient occlusion maybe)
- the trails from the wings seem to "smokey". shouldn't they be more "flatish" sort of?
appart from that as i said, very good work
keep up the good work

abit DOF would add to realism as well. right now the planes look seperated from the background.
also as already mentioned the surfaces look too clean...i can count the rivets;)
also motionblur can help becaue its almost impossible to keep the absolutly same speed and line of path on a plane (i asume the camera is on another plane)

what most people mean when they say that... is they think your image feels too still. which is a .... not so good thing... images whould flow and feel alive. even static objects need a sort of special touch to make them "flow".
im sure you've heard this before... but in pictures where there is movement of objects, theres needs to be a reference of speed or the image looks dead. in your case, i would actually suggest bringing the first plane really close to the camera... and putting some motion on it. on it.... change your lens size to something that would actually be used in an aircraft... like say... a 150mm macro lens. then have the two airplanes in the background take up more space... and blur out the clouds. right now, there are three points of focus... none of which really... "stands out". if you bluur one airplane and leave the other two... you kinda get the focal point narrowed. thats what i think. other people will probably tell you differently.
i really like this image. big fan of military renderings.
and the smoke trails behind a wing are actually cased by the supersonic spead of the wing compressing the vapor in the air washing of the entire wing. its swept back across the leading edge and becuase its both pressurized and cooled, the water vapor condenses (going all the way back to grade 12 chem class). what you see is not actually smoke... but vapor. which is why it is a short trail and disperses. :D next time you're talking to ur girlfriend at an airshow and a jet pulls a high speed barrel roll, you can show off that bit of knowledge ;) haha.
cheers m8!

Edit: woop... looking back at ur picture... ur smoke looks more like the smoke they use while performing airshows so you can see where the planes are. but the stuff about the compression trails is a nice tidbit of knowledge
here in canada its just red and white... hehe woot

looks good ...planes are a little too clean need a little bit of a dirt map and reduction of bump... but otherwise good

I love the picture. The modeling and texturing is perfect. It might pop out a little more if you took the contrast down a little bit, also some DOF would help. Other than that it looks great.
