This is one of my characters for a project I am working on. She will be turning 3D in the near future with an anime-ish/realistic look in 3D.

This is the origin concept art, but i may retrace and redetail more on her soon.

I havent figured out a good colour scheme for her, but i was thinking blonde hair colour, silver-ish armor colour and blue clothing colour.

Any comments are welcome.

Well, it is nice, but personally, I think it's a little archetypal. That's not necessarily a bad thing, if you want it to feel anime-like and familiar, but maybe a little innovation would help making her more interesting.
Of course, I don't know what kind of project it is you're workinig on, it could be anything, so maybe she fits perfectly into the world you're creating. :)

nice design, interesting to see a female paladin, not to mention an elf

Thanks for the replies.

Culann: I was wondering what u meant by archetypal.

Her design with the light armor allows her to be little more flexible, unlike most of the other ways the paladins are drawn (mostly big brutes).

Instead of giving her a long sword or bastard sword, i went with the idea of giving her a katana-like blade, making her fighting style somewhat samurai-like.

the only thing is her hand. it really bugs me. this is a fantastic, clean, well thought out piece of work, but her deformed hand (the point of the pose as i see it) ruins it oO WOULD LOVE TO SEE THIS COLORED!

Wonderful costume. Do you plan to model this in 3d?

Yes I do plan on modeling her in 3D. I'm just going for feedback right now. I do intend to finish her in 2d as well, but i've been held up with other stuff. I will be posting my current work in progress in the WIP forum soon. I'm working on a demo reel/short animation about a bunch of Gnomes chatting before going into battle. Has a little SPR(Saving Private Ryan) influence in it.

I'll keep you posted on the 2d elf artwork, once i can create and scan it in.

Well my crits of this got lost in the server crash, but I'm a big fan of the concept. If you didn't catch it before, I thought perhaps the bottom half of the character could use a little more detail to balance better with the top half. Maybe something like intricate boots or long hanging pouches. Just a thought. Great work!

Bored Alien: I did get you post, and some of my posts got removed too. But those post had a more detailed Girdle. Im thinking of adding a spellbook attached to a chain that goes around her shoulder like a bag. I am planning to put a couple of pouches on her girdle as well as the sword holder. Take into mind that the original pic was a very rough idea i drew up so i wouldn't forget the idea. But along with the design, i want her to look elegent as well.

Maybe i should give some background detail as well.

Anyways, here is her girdle design. Wasn't too happy with the emblem design and will probably change it later.

I'm kinda missing the "holier than thou"/blessed/devine/stalwart elements.
Now it could be an elven warrior or assasin aswell.
Colours will fix at least some of that I think.

spellbook attached to a chain
Yeah, that's nice. ;)

This looks very nice. As someone said earlier, I believe the hand needs some work... I think the biggest problem is that it's just too small.

I love the breastplate you drew; very functional and semi-modest. One thing tht bugs me is her midriff... seems like there "should" be something to cover/protect her there in addition. She simply looks too vulnerable. Maybe even a thick leather band about her tummy... I can't remember what those are called, but I think my point is out there.

I haven't really got around to improving my pic, mainly because im working on another picture for my demo reel/short animation. The girdle is suppose to give my character alittle more covering. I think i said it before in another posting before the server crashed and my pictures were deleted, but i'm giving her a more elegant look and less armor plating for more movement and flexibility (Hopefully will be shown on my animation piece once i finish my current animation project).

Joril: Usually when i draw my assassins, they have more of a "bum" look. My warriors are the same, unless they are more heavily armored. I'm trying to avoid the "ironman all armor" look and tried out something new. My picture was the end result. Although i was thinking of adding some more armor piece to her, i haven't really made up my mind on that. The colour will add something to the type of person she is, as well as extra details.

I know the hands are small, and one of my friend pointed that out to me. I'll fix that when i revise my character.
