Im shopping around for an a5 intuos tablet.

I've put aside £190 sofar. I wont get paid until wednesday. I am a student so can get student discounts if I could find some!

Heres the two cheapest sofar.

Pixmania (http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/s_action/search/index.html) £205
Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0006ZOY60/qid=1137945875/sr=8-1/ref=pd_ka_1/202-4825202-2644668) £202

Would it be better to save and buy the A5 wide? I run two screens and I assume i'd have to turn one off when using the tablet?

You mean turn the second monitor of? Nope, you can have both of them turned on and decide whichever you want to use the wacom with. It’s fully customizable.

Yo Simon, this is where I got mine from for Christmas (parents paid for it :D).

Mycomputerbits.com (http://www.myeducationbits.com/stores/product_family_view.do?pubID=6169&familyID=47367)

They are based in the UK, and provide extremely quick delivery. I got my Intuos3 A5 off of them for about £180 including delivery.

I had to provide proof of educational status which is easy to get from your school/college reception. So I just ordered the item, then they ask you to send the proof of status either in the post or as an email attachment. They'll then send it onto Wacom, which takes a day or two, then the order will go through.

I checked out this place after someone from here purchased their tablet from them middle of lastyear. I highly recommend them..............and I'll definitely be buying any tablets in the future from them if I have the need.

WACOM

Wacom provide graphics tablets at discounted prices to schools, colleges, universities, non-profit making educational establishments, full-time students and teachers. They require us to provide proof of status. Students and Teachers must provide a letter or other documentation from their school, college or university. An NUS card is not sufficient. Educational establishments should fax an official purchase order to us on 0845 458 2176.

Like I said, I went into my college reception and requested a letter which prooves that I'm a student of the establishment. They should have a house letter, which they just add your name to and then add an admin persons signiture to.

Yeah, it's exactly that. All colleges/schools should be able to provide it for you if you require educational discounts.

Yeah I see your point. Depends on if you could do with £20-£30 for some beers or something and don't mind waiting a few extra days. :scream:

They do some useful software discounts aswell which is always nice to know.

My school was giving me hassle about the request for proof of studentship so i sheleld out the money for an amazon one. to be fair Amazon have a 100% returns policy if your electircals are broken so Its a lot less hassle. Plus I get it tmmrw! not the week after next!
