hello, i know how to use sss both fast and physical but i dont understand how i use sss for a object which is fully textured ,where do i connect my texture ....if i use a maya material and texture it and use sss on its output connection wont the maya material will be supressed...can any one advise how do i achieve this effect ...thanx any info on this will be appreciated...thanx again

In Max at least, the sss shaders have a surface material map slot / node. So, the shader uses diffuse information from the standard material when shading the sss. Perhaps it works in a similar way in Maya? ie, use your standard material in the surface slot of a sss material?
