Sorry, I know is somewhat confusing.
Somehow along the way I ended up deleting the arms of my Biped
Fortunately I have older scene files, so I am attempting to create a file with nothing but its arms, to then merge that file to the present one. For this I have created snapshots of both arms, then move them to a layer of their own, and unlinked them from the Biped. The problem is that dispite all these things everytime I attempt to delete the rest of the body it deletes the arms along with it :(
How can I get this done?
Any ideas will be more than appreciated.

Thanks guys,

If a part of a biped is deleted, Max will remove all the biped's parts from your scene. It treats biped as one entity so if any of the parts is removed it breaks the IK chain and has to remove all the biped.

In case you are doing this to use your arms with their specific animation, then you can just save the animation from the biped (from your previous scene) as a .bip file or from the mixer as a .mix file and simply import it into a new biped by using the "Filters" inside the motion mixer. There you can filter only the hand animation and that should be fine.

hope that helps

Thanks Lotk :) But importing the animation file won't help, as it wouldn't find any arms in the Biped to match the animation with
Something else I did, was to convert the arms to Editable Poly. Without a difference though.

Damn, I feel so stupid :(
I just noticed that the very first checkbox in the Biped rollout/Structure is "Arms". It was not checked. I must have unchecked it at some point. What else?
Anyway, it is checked now, and all I hope now is that I can go back without much fuss to where I was.
