Spy character legality

I have a storyboard written that is centered on a Spy character from the Spy vs Spy comic/game. The project won't be for any kind of commercial profit, but what kind of legal issues are involved in using someone else's character intellectual property? Thanks for your help. Peash

AdamYou need the copyright holder's permission, whether it's for profit or not.

Are you sure that Atow3212 needs the company's permission because there are a lot of sites on the web that are continuations of a previous project.

My advice is to check it out on the governments copyright site.
