View Full Version : Delete history, but keep skin weight and deformers? In Maya6?

Hi

There is a remove non-skin history, but it seems that the skin-weight-data get lost, right?
And the deformers are lost for sure, eg blendshapes

Is it possible to disconnect them from Hypergraph and then connect them back after deleting history?
And keeping the skin-weight data would be another problem to solve.

Yes... there is!

Edit-Delete by type-> Non deformer history.

New in Maya 7

Yeah, I was so happy for that new feature - unfortunately I still have Maya6.
Question is. if there is a way to go around the problem.

Was I right, that the skin-weight data also dissapears when erasing non-skin history in Maya6? If yes, this one and the keeping-deformers feature is quite needed for those who still use Maya6.

What about the hypergraph work-around about the keeping the deformers?
Keeping the skin-weights might be solved with MEL or something.
