Hi, I am in the event to purchace the Maya family at work and have a few questions. I am coming from Blender open source and have been using it to render out your normal day stuff here at work. It runs great and does what it needs to do, except for high end effects.

I am trying to find the package that can assit in reation of giant storms and physics calculations for crumbleing walls explodeing ships, and all sorts of high detailed destruction that come from high end apps.

I know of passes and combustion/Shake/Motion for these kind of 2d ad ons but what of 3d designed effects. Does the Maya unlimited product produce this kind of imagery ? Or is this still a job for an even higher more focused plugin? If so what then?

I dont have an unlimited budget, but I can get something that will give access to these kind of tools. Are most of them coded in house? Tried the demo of cinema and have been sadly unimpressed by it's output of destruction effects. Blender can only do so much without tons of fake hacks.

I dont want to leave OSX but am willing if needed.
