Title: Tranquility
Name: Clive Huson
Country: United Kingdom
Software: Photoshop, Vue

This was one of my first Vue Infinite images. A nice place to chill. About 80,000 trees. Chose the palm tree for it's low polycount. Original render is 3500 X 1968 pixels.

C&C welcome.

Nice terrain, but some grass, bushes under the palms would be OK.

its great mate it looks flawless at first glance, i like the blue tint in the distance same as the real thing
but as kajtom said a little grass and rocks or anything here and there won't hurt
also can you edit the shores it doesn't look real at all when looking at those edges

btw how much time did it take to render at high res

I agree with all of the above, could use some grassy areas and some detail or white wash on the waters edge. Very nice overall though the atmosphere is what makes it so engaging, well done. You used the trees very well also.

Nice! How much time to rendering a scene such as this?

Thanks for the replies everyone!

This was an early 'Vue Infinite' pic & I still had a lot to learn about the Ecosystem features when I created it. I now know how to populate & mask areas off, would do it different today to give it smaller details. Didn't post it here before for just that reason, I knew it could have been re-worked yet didn't want to spend another day re-rendering!

Took around 20hrs to render. I split it into three sections & pasted them together at the end. I now would use the Rendercow system with my Hyper-Threaded processor. This allows bigger & faster renders without the memory warning for RAM cropping up every five minutes.

P4 266ghz, 1GB RAM.

It was a grey, overcast & gloomy day here weatherwise & a spot of sunshine was called for, so I leafed through some stuff from a few months back. Glad you liked!

Cheers!

looks really good.
I love the colors and lighting.

But the transition from the open water - shallow water -beach is very bad. There should be little waves and more detail and the such.

Also the transition from the beach to the wood needs a lot more work. Some bushes and difference in the ground texture would work wonders and make this pic a lot better...
