View Full Version : rigid body initial velocity
seb4d 11-30-2002, 09:25 AM Hi !
I want to animate a ball falling on the ground with rigid bodies dynamics.
But I want my ball to have an initial speed and direction at the beginning of the simulation, not just a ball starting falling verticaly from nowhere.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks !

ok, it's a sunny weekend over here - take a look at your channel box when your active rigid body is selected
...
i plead for setting up a sticky posting guideline thread for this forum
something like
- consult your manuals first / maya's online help has a search function
- search the forum archive
- search on your favorite search engine
- for god's sake, post it
--- be as precise as possible when describing your particular problem
--- don't assume that other people will be able to guess what you are trying to achieve
--- if relevant post the version of maya you are using and your operating system
and so on

ok ok I'm still a student in 3D so I don't always know where to look for help (apart from my teacher).
And I'm french, my english is not very good so I try to explain my problem as precise as I can.
Thank you for your answer anyway. I didn't want to disturb you.

the solution i found to dis is to uze fields, one that will push that u want, just keying the first frames of the field magnitude for an instantaneouse force or whatever its called in english. this could be a dumbass way of doing.. dunno.. imanewbie anyway
