Title: Between Water And Clouds (3d)
Name: Zhong Shi Feng
Country: China
Software: 3ds max, Photoshop, VRay

This my first post in CGTALK, though I came there many times just to enjoy other people's work. I love CG talk, I want use this wonder platform to communicate with CG artists all over the world.

THis is the first work in my 2006. What I want is to represent Chinese history before you.

My thought: China is a country with thoudands of years' long history. Myth can bring us back to the cradle of river.Beautiful blue blue sky, brick red wall, golden coloured glaze, and clouds around. Thoundands of rills fly down to gather into lakes and seas.

This is a very nice opus!

钟兄或者仲兄的作品不错啊,名字应该叫“水云间”吧,可惜翻译成英文就没有意境了,画的真漂亮,很像神仙居住的地方啊。

Beautiful. How did you do the waterfalls?

My only crit is your backline of trees (visible above the arched bridge). it looks like your lights haven't reached that far.

Truly great image! I only have two criticisms:

1) I agree with what was said about the back line of trees. They need more light.

2) The addition of depth of field and more atmospheric perspective (the haziness in the distance) will help make the image more realistic looking. These tricks will give the city a greater sense of scale - at the moment it looks like a miniature model of a city.

The waterfalls look fantastic! How did you make them?

Peace,

- me
