This is my first post ever anywhere to any forum and I'm excited to find such an awsome forum as this.

I've been working in the video game industry for about 6 almost 7 years now doing character models mostly. I've been looking to improve my 2d portfolio and find this forum very inspiring, and here's my post.

The characher is a nomad scavaging for anything useful. As you can see he found something. I think he likes it.

Heh! Yeah, and stuck in it's back he'll find an energy source that will never run out!

Nice painting! I like how you did the dried mud, and all the folds and wrappings of the clothing.

Well I'd thought I show how this image progressed.

All the work was done in photoshop. This is the first sketch done on a wacom tablet in photoshop 6.

As you can see the bunny used to be a baby. The Originaly though the Nomad could be stealing babies from other tribes.

After I make a rough sketch I make another layer on top of the sketch. I adjust the opacity of the sketch layer to about 10 to 30 percent then on the top layer I redraw the character.

Vey cool!
I liked the baby idea. The bunny works too. You should make it bigger and fluffier, with a less upright pose.
The perspective on his feet is a little janky, you should try and fix it. I would like to see more desert-like lighting and shadows.
Well that's my 2 cents.
Keep up the good work!

SORRY i just couldn't resist. I really like youe drawing and I had to do a paint over to show you what I was talking about.
Here ya go.

I agree. It didn't occur to me to do that to the back ground but it's definatly a improvment. Great sun.

The toy box I was tring to make it look half burried but I guess it didn't come across as such. I really like the shine on the plastic window in the box you did.

Yea you got the feet to sit on the same ground plane, and the bunny is very cute.

Thanks for the input, it would be worth it to make the changes.

If I where to put the baby in there I felt I would of had to put stuff in the background to help explain to the viewer why the baby is there. With the bunny I just had to put a deserted toy box to make it look like he just found something. With the baby I was thinking of putting the baby's parents dead on the ground to imply the nomad killed them to get the child. Since I'm new to doing finnished art I went with the easier and less depressing idea.

Pix,
You have a great idea and some very competent work here. I am always impressed when someone uses a Tablet as well as you can. I'm still gettin gused to mine. I really like the interactivity with real paint and pencils and stuff though. It has always been hard for me to want to make something solely on the computer.
And this place is a really nice forum to showcase and and everything. Everyone here seems pretty cool.
