I think this is pretty good. I dont use my Wacom as much as I should, but it is evident that your not bad with the thing. Did you scan the pic first? Or or trace it or anything?


Now , the best thing about using your Wacom is the unlimited palette you get, and no mess. Try pushing the colors in different directions, put other colors besides flesh tones and reds in her face. Use things like greens, and purples. Especially into the shadow regions. Fashion mags always wash out the colors and lights so you have to make up the strong lighting youself.
You are going in the right direction, keep copying but make some stuff up in the pictures as well.

You are right I should learn to mix other colors and add more dramatic light to get a better skin effect...

I did not scan the original picture. I just looked at the magazine on my desk beside the computer while I drew on my tablet...

hehe sorry bout last post just had to say it :D
ok i ve compared the 2, heres how u can get it to look a bit closer to the painting:

1.the referance s eyes are a bit slimmer not by much and i think u should tone down the white in her eyes as well to give it a bit more of a darker feel when u lookinto her soul through her eyes ;)

2.the referances bottom lip is alot bigger gives her that kinda pucky look (?) it may not make sence but it does to me heh.

3.i think in the referance shes got her eyebrows up a bit more kinda like opening your eyes but keeping them shut (ok im just not making sence all over) try it keep ur eyes slightly open and raise ur eyebrows i think thats what the models doing, in your picture i think the eyebrow closest to us is fine maybe tweak the back one?

4. a few last points try blending your highlights/shadows a bit i kinda like that style. but if u want a more softer feel try gradienting your shadows a bit more especially on skin, and her ear is a bit wierd.

other wise man u got ur self a pretty nice peice looks a bit on the unfinished side but not bad at all :D

anyways i hope that nonsence helps my crit always seems a bit hard to read, its probably cause my grammer is crap! :D

disregard the eyebrow comment i was looking back over the two, ur eyebrows are pretty good maybe a bit thinner and lighter but thats personal preferance. but the lips defenetly have to change.
