Hi. Thought I'd post this piece that I did awhile ago to try to get a freelance job with Marvel, (no luck) All done with a graphite pencil and was going to use this rough as a guide when I would of painted it, but with how things went, didn't need to go any farther on it so I didn't.

I was thinking on posting a tutorial on creating artwork (like the Thor piece or the Joker I posted awhile ago) and how I approach things, but with my terrible track record on getting freelance jobs (No college or artschool training? Sorry, can't hire you.) my bad luck might rub off on everyone. LOL

anyhow, take a look, give me some critiques, good or bad. I am always willing to learn.

No tracing was involved, and no I didn't use my body as a reference. LOL . Ok maybe just a little for the knees.

Wow...you have a really nice rendering technique and the amount of detail in the picture is awesome. I noticed a few things about the anatomy that seem a little weird. His left arm and shoulder don't seem accurate. I don't think we'd be seeing any of the shoulder and his bicep seems too thick. The torso also seems off....almost like I can't tell which direction it's pointed towards. I think that is partially due to the decorations on the costume and belt not "wrapping" around the character. One other suggestion I have is either making the background darker or lighter....right now, the character and the background are competing too much for attention, because they are in such a similiar tonal range.
Overall though, it's a really awesome piece. I'd love to see some more of your work:D
