could you be more specific about the problem....curve editor is a place which tells you how your motion is interpolating between keyframes...and a video tutorial for curve editor?
Shortcuts are always dangerous buddy!

Yeah, at least list what application you're using. Also, any specific problems you're having?

when in doubt, read the program's manual. Each program's curve editor is different with differing ways to add/delete/edit the curve edit points.
Most curve editors within most applications let you employ bezier curves which lets you ease in/out various effects. Ease in/out meaning the speed at which the values change from one key frame to the next.
Certain animation controllers allow you to control the XYZ values of Rotation/Position and Scale using a curve editor but other motion controllers limit the amount of direction you can command on these values via curve editing.
For the most part, the frame numbers can be read along the horizontal plane and the values for effects are read along the vertical plane.
A straight line presents a linear transition from one key frame to the next. Bezier curve lines either speed up or slow down the effect (value) from one key frame to the next depending on the curve's angle. The steaper the curve's angle is to the horizontal plane (horizontal would be 0 degrees), the quicker the effect's value changes from one key frame to the next.
