View Full Version : Stationary Particle Spray? Help!
Theta-Dot 11-29-2002, 06:29 PM I am rendering a 1500 frame long scene with a camera moving through a nebula in space. I have the particle spray set up, and I like the way it looks, but there is no way to make the particle spray just sit there while the camera is animated.
I want to have the camera move through the stationary particles, but the spray keeps spitting out new particles! Is there another way I can do this? Can I just collapse the spray somehow so I can animate and not have it keep spraying? thanks

Try using Particle Cloud instead.

I did, but it never looked as good. No matter though, I cheated and animated the camera to move with the particles, so everything is alright now. THanks anyway. Thread officially closed!

You can take a snapshot of the particles and that would create a mesh of them at the moment the snapshot was take, like a freeze frame kind of thing

If you wnat the spray to stop spitting out particles it's just a matter of animating the birth rate to die off after a certain amount of time...

Next to edit in the main menu bar
Tools>Snapshot..
you can take a snap shot of a range of frames or just single one here you are currently at with the time slider.
