i was just wondering why you switched to xsi from maya?
Not trying to put you on the spot or anything, just curious.

Thanks for the replies.
For why i am switching,
we will start working on a collaborative short animation project shortly, and chose Xsi as the package of choice largely because the majority of the team is familiar with it and it is more animation friendly , it is dependable when rendering!! (the main reason why i am switching).
oh and i love the UI ;)

xsifiles.com
has alot of links and i think some reference books are listed. Although they may not all be XSI related.
You probably know this already, but there's also quite a bit xsi resource down at highend3d.com
Hope that helps,
wlau
