View Full Version : lookats on single axis
webstar 11-29-2002, 01:02 PM I'm trying to make an object "look at" a target object by means of a look at controller but I only want the z axis to "look at" my target.
Can anyone help on this matter?
Thanks

just use the look at constrain (assume that you use max5)
there you have plenty of control over axis and multiple look at targets.

jesus that was quick - thanks for your reply - I've never tried that before.
Just the ticket!
Thanks a million

Apply the look-at constraint to a dummy, link the object to the dummy, and uncheck X and Y in the Inherit Rotation rollout (in the hierarchy panel)
