View Full Version : Convert selected edge to curve?
Mr Fudge 11-29-2002, 12:40 PM Is there a way or script that allows you to select an edge that does not obviously overlap and convert that edge to a curve?
It's a Max function but well handy. I figured there must be a way as there are loads of scripts out there that emulate missing max functions.
Couldn't look on Highend cos it seems to be down at the mo.
Thanks,
- F

Edit Curves -> Duplicate Surface Curves will create a one degre nurbs curve from your edge(s).

But that creates a curve for every single edge. Is there a way to get it to create one continious curve for the selected edge?
I know you can attach the curves but if that is the case I can just as well trace the edge by hand.

You can downlad the Bonus Games plugin off the A/W site. It is in there along with some other great tools.

I haven't used the Bonus game tools but you can just take the model you are sorking on and draw a curve right on it. If you hold down the "V" key while you draw, it will point snap to every intersection of the wireframe. I would recommend turning the wireframe on as long as you draw the curve also.

OK, Now imagine doing that for every vertex across something as complex as a face for eg. Or alternatively select one edge, use select contigious edge tool to get a whole row of cv's and make a curve from that. Much simpler and quicker.
