I'm looking for a little feed back on an animated short that i'm working on. It is still very much a work in progress. Infact, most of the animation you see here is going to be redone. I started it for a school project, then I realized about halfway through the quarter that I wouldn't be able to finish it if I went with the story idea that I want to do. So the animation you see here, I just did to get something done for the class. Now I want to go back and do my original idea. Maybe I should just shut up and let you see it.

If you feel like critiquing anything, i'm most intrested in hear what you think about the look and feel of it. The actual story is going to be more like an olympic event with several competitors. The penguin that you see here is what I would call the Hero penguin.

A couple of comments on the animation you posted.

1. The shot in the beginning when the penguin reaches for his goggles needs trimming to avoid the jump cut. It's when the camera is pointing directly at the penguin from the front. His wings begin to move up towards the goggles then the very next shot his arms are at his side and then move up to the goggles.

2. The other thing that stood out is right when he first jumps down the ice slide, it seems as if he comes back up and then slides down. That looks strange because there is no indication of how or why he pops back up from the slide when gravity should have pulled him straight down.

Hey, Thanks for the feedback Paul. Both great suggestions, and will deffinitily be put to use when I get back to work on the project.
