ah; i'm having problems blending the seam that's left after trimming and fillet blending . i've tried turning on the tesselation and it's still there .

does anyone know how to rid of this ? i've attach a picture . please take a look .

The only solution for you is to try and match the tesselation of the surfaces as close as possible. With trimmed surfaces you're always (almost) doomed for very high settings... also depending on your output resolution. I prefer stitching... so I always get a 1 on 1 tesselation match..... but that's me :)

does that seam remain even in rendering?....you can do a few things about that....

1 in the attribute editor for the surface, you can increase the precision it is drawn with in the viewport by playing with the nurbs "curve precision" and the "crv precision shaded" under the nurbs surface display folder.

2 to get rid of those when rendering you are going to have to play with the nurbs render tessalation settings. they are either in the render pulldown menu(to do all surfaces at once)...or in the attribute editor(to edit per surface)

looking at the one you have there, it prolly will go away when rendering....but you never know.....

hope that helps...

I have the exact same problems, and they are pissing me off quite nicely.

Playing with the Tesselation doesnt help at all, and i cant attach some trimmed surfaces let alone stitch their edges.
When trying to trim-convert a simple trimmed disc, it disappears, hooray. :shame:

I begin to think Maya's NURBs Modeling sucks :|.

:annoyed: :annoyed: :annoyed:

I'm having the same kinds of problems...can anyone shed some light on the mystery of NURBS trimming, attaching, filleting, etc.? I'm always getting gaps or weird geometry, or the famous disappearing geometry...help! :surprised

I also can't figure out why my trimmed surfaces always look like the one in the attachment. Does anyone know what all that weirdness is along the bottom of the surface? And will it affect the way I texture the model?

there's definitly not right with your workflow. Check your CV's in the problem area.
I also suggest you go for poly modeling, or cut the NURBS wall up.
