haven't heard of a RIB exporter... thing about exporting to a third party in the way is you will of course loose most if not all of the texture information. c4d doesn't have support for renderman texture system as far as i'm aware... you really need a bridge directly from teh package of choice. however if that's not a problem then just go to whichever program you own that you feel happiest with the texture system in, then export from there once you've recreated the textures you wanted to use... it would be better to be honest to work directly in a package taht had a RIB exporter in it.

yeah, I know, I can probably do some stuff in c4d, and the do the rest in some other package, thanks anyway

Here's another area where Darktree could be beneficial. Since they just released a Renderman Simbiont you could texture in Cinema and (via some conduit) carry your textures to the RIB scene.
