Hi all. Yesterday I bought a new processor for my computer, a dual core AMD64 3800+ x2.
I installed it on my computer and all is been working perfectly (even overclocking) except 3D Studio Max7. When I run de program, it freezes once loaded. Not the computer, only the program, and the cores grows up to 100% cpu usage while the program is freezed.
I have a hard disk with a backup (only OS, drivers and apps) and I though it would work because it's like a new installation, but then happened the same.
Maybe its because when I installed the apps I had a single core computer and there is any problem with the license?

Thanx a lot for your help.

note: sorry for my english

Are you using a NVidia graphics card? If yes you might get the very latest drivers, there is a known bug with older ones that might bring max 7 to a grinding halt.
The problem most often occured on quad systems but seems to happen on duals too sometimes.
Cheers

Lol sorry, I forgot posting my system!

Gigabyte`s Nforce 4 Ultra mainboard
Nvidia 6600 64bit 256MBDDR2 VGA (<--- gona change it soon, i hate it)
AMD64 x2 3800+ (FSB 230)
2GB DDR Corsair 550Mhz

So I will download the new drivers from Nvidia, I hope its the problem, though I have only a some moths old driver.
Thanx!

He was referring to 82.12. The 81.xx drivers have issues with multiple CPUs and OpenGL.
