For those interested, I made a short script to fix symmetry. (http://theladyandthelion.com/wordpress/?p=33)

It deletes the current symmetry map, and assigns a new symmetry map.

There was already a script floating around here (or at the base) that did this and a lot more. Also created a clone, and sets your original object to wireframe display, so you can see the clone mesh below it. That same thread had a script (I call it HalfKill from my LW days) that deletes -x. NOTE: freeze your transforms first.

Thanks anyways.

you're talking about a VERY different thing.
you're talking about symmetrizing a mesh, he's talking about regenerating a symmetry map on a full model.

try and run "halfkill" crap on an already enveloped and shape animated model :)

Yep, Jaco said it all, and more. :)

This script is intended to save time. After my third time of reapplying a symmetry map (yes, I'm impatient), I decided it was time to make a faster method.

Thank you :bounce:

hey Matthew ,

Thanks for the script man , can you please go ahead and post it here in this thread:

http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=308948

Started up a scripts and plugins thread so we can keep everything in one place and also because these cool scripts get lost once the thread leaves the first page.

cheers ,
-A
