Since I can't see this posted yet, I thought i'd bring this to everyones attention;

http://www.digitaldomain.com/links/comm/recentwork/RW1/RW1.htm

Its a new Ad by Digital Domain, for a Motorola phone, and directed by David Fincher.
Its pretty much awesome, is there anyone here who worked on this? I say congratulations! It shows that Terragen is capable of a quality that not alot of people would have believed.

Overall, damn good CG.

Beautiful, Loving it! Very good job on behalf of Digital Domain...you know it takes an ad like this, to really show how well done some CG in ads can be - this stuff looks, reacts and behaves like reality! Great job Digital Domain!

P.S. Nice little making of video there too!

yeah ive been watching this ad for a while on TV and always thought it was amazing, but never questioned who did it, ive always admired fincher's expertise and dedication to cg and he uses it in the right way.

amazing ad before and after i knew fincher did it. And very nice making of, makes me want to learn houdini more.

Very cool advertisement - I didnīt see that on tv - good advertisements are never on air only the big whole crap everyone knows.

what, you mean Terragen, that app that alot of people say is not a professional/usable app?

Is it only me that can't help but read the name as 'pleb'? Maybe a bit of subliminal marketing towards a certain demographic (or my attitude to accelerated consumerism showing through).

Still, lovely work & it's like watching a demo sequence of archetypal CG renders: asteroid/earth shot; landscape gen; volumetric smoke; particle rain/rocks...

I cant help but think that your cmment was directed at me because i named a 3d pakage. What i know is Digital Domain use Houdini extensively in all stages of production. Modelling, Texturing, Rendering, Visual Effects, Pre Vis etc.

All i said "was makes me want to learn houdini more", but i guess its a bad thing to say on a visual effects forum.

mushroomgod: To be fair he did say " Done with a proprietary form of Terragen", not the actual app. But i too have heard people opinions about Terragen both from people at work and i just know. BTW love your work. :)

but he is right and im soo wrong.
