I had some time spare today so i decided a quick model was in order, aimed at handhelds. I haven't got any concept pieces so i'll see where i can go from here and hopefully have it finsihed later tonight with an annoying fantasy name and all...

reminds me of eiko from ffix
I like the odd proportions, it's a character-giver. Looking forward to seeing where you'll take this :)

well i didn't get much time to work on this over the past couple of days so i'm running behind a tad behind.. http://craig.franticant.com.au/images/analeawip2.jpg
This is what i've got done so far.. i'll probably go back and change a few things here and there..

fasth: funny you should mention the final fantasy influence.. i was ogling the screen shots for final fantasy III on the nintendo DS right before i started working on this..

dood! you did a darn spiffy job with such small textures, but you can probably use a lot more texture space than that and make it much more detailed.

nice job. mind throwing up the texture map .. just curious

Dood is right about usein bigger map for so we can see some more detail on the little hot soccer mom you made but to be honest I love how you made it work man you just inspired me to make some of these little buggers.

Well there she is.. rigged, with a sword texture flats and all.. although i think i should have given her an suv.. oh well...

doodinator & Dark_sOLACE: Glad you guys like her.. although I would have used a bigger texture size.. but that would have killed the the whole masochistic needlessly small textures i was going for.. plus i was aiming this for handheld console use.. so the nintendo DS, mobile or PSP don't tend to use overly large textures. Maybe my next model will have a slightly larger texture.

awww, so cute, nice work  a bit more contrast in the textures would be great tho, kinda like this http://www.carolinedelen.com/perart/franky_full%20body.jpg
may not suit the style of the game you're doing it for tho

This is just my 2 cents: the face would look much cooler if you used the portraits from a game like Final Fantasy Tactics (Psx) for texture inspiration. Especially if you are going for a FF3 DS look. As it is, it does conjure up the kinds of characters from FF9 or something but is being held back a bit - I think you're trying for too much detail given the texture space you're workin with.
