August"
We will do ALL 12 months on the calendars for 2 weeks, OUT OF ORDER.
This is an EARLY MONDAY posting.
Have fun
We will try to post one of these topics once a day for your enjoyment.

These are the rules:
* Post only your FINAL piece on this thread, based on the topic on the thread.
* RESOLUTION : The image can have any aspect ratio up to 800 x 600
* They can be done on any medium.
* If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
* Only original compositions. No "tributes" or plagiarizing, unless is it an integral part of the challenge.
* The topics will be posted every day between 10:00 - 12:00 am US EST.
* The artist also has to post total length of time it took (Thanks Clanger for the idea) and program used.
* Only final pieces can be posted on the thread. They must have been done AFTER the topic has been announced.
* Any piece caught breaking the rules will be taken off the thread.
* The topics will be picked at random from the list on this thread
(The author will be given credit). So guys keep them coming.
*You can add multiple entries, but please dont post WIP (Unless you intend to update them). NEW RULE!
*ANOTHER thread to quantify and track WHO has participated the most on these threads.

Good luck

yeah, Telemaco, that's some concept, and you held the form well in it. You use a mouse I assume, and get the lines and blocking nice and clean.

Erikonen -- a series of sunsets for each month? this one feels really calm and lazy, like half-asleep after dinner.

Matador -- great atmosphere -- the "sunniness" comes through well. Mostly just the issue with the diving board perspective, but if it was corrected, it might take up half the sketch.

The_13 -- is that a chrysallis?

just a stereotypical August sketch -- Photoshop, 30 min.

Telemaco -- ummfh, words eaten. so you just have great control. anyway, the style is cool and the way you put in all the detail really draws the eye. and the shadowing. yeah.

aelwine -- you slipped one in there during my reply -- :) just purely latching onto younger childhood. great effects. incredible painting.

Very good work everyone. I scour this forum all the time and I love everone's work.

-littlefish: It's suppose to just be a brown leaf signaling the start of fall but a crysalis also does the trick!

Wasn't too sure what i wanted to do again, so I decided to do a butterfuly.. but then i wanted to do somethings w/ lighting, so i had to figure out a bkgrd... I really like the way it looked on the black, so i went w/ a moonlight bkgrd. i know the butterfly doesnt look real, but i'm really feeling the colors...

Love this concept. I'm going to have 13 calenders this year (and a $1000 tab at Kinkos)

I always hated August for this reason. So sad for children
