I tried searching around and I couldn't find anything about this. If I install Mental Ray Satellite on a system running Mac OSX, but I am running the batch render from a PC, is there any way to make this work?
I have 2 other PCs currently networked up to help with my Mental Ray renders, and all I had to do was install satellite and then open up the correct port. I attempted to do the same with the Mac, but my render log states "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it."
Sorry if this is a stupid inquiry, but I had an old mac in my basement and when I realized I had the capabiltiy render on up to 8 machines with my unlimited liscense, I dedided to try bringing it back to life, to no avail.
