View Full Version : Character;Wyatt Earp
the-bold-boy 01-09-2006, 10:30 PM Hi all, been loging on to this forum for a long time now thought it was about time I contributed.
This is my take on that famous lawman Wyatt Earp I didn't use a concept it just happened as I went along.
It's not meant to be photorealistic in any way I think it's got a bit of style to it which is what I like to see in a character model.
It took about a week on and off, I'm not an animator so I will have to ask a mate of mine if he will skin it up for me so I can get a few poses together.
All crits welcome.

Nice model. Good use of polys and a pretty sweet texture.
I think his legs/body may be too short/long, respectively.
Think his hat could do with some slight highlights or details. I know it's supposed to be black, but it looks unlit compared to the rest of him.

Texture on hat needs more love. Legs are way to little and short. everything else is top notch.

hey nice character, decent texture
if i can add some critique, for 7800 triangles you got really cheap with the arms and legs and i really cant tell where you spent all of it, it looks more like a 4000 poly model. but for the most part the mesh flows pretty nicely. and about the texture, its good but the hands look self illuminated
to end on a good note i really dig the character and the proportions

Thanks for taking the time to reply guy's, as far as the legs go I think it is the fact that his gunbelt is sitting quite low and this making them look shorter I did make an effort to ensure they were in proportion. Shika: cheers almost right the model is 5500 the rest is the hat guns and holsters I didn't put that much into the arms and legs because I feel that the texture carries it and as long as they deform correctly at the knees and elbows its fine, a different model might need more by the way the whole thing is self illuminated I won't light it until I get some poses together.
Cheers.
Nicely done, that man. Very nice. Perhaps some pockets on his jacket?
Sharp textures and propertionally, he appears correct - could be the two belts (trouser and gun belt) are so close together it makes it look really big, so shortening his waist.
Stretching on the butt of the revolvers tho - but a minor niggle ;)
Let's see him rigged and doing the hoedown!
