Hey guys,
I'm in the process of making an animated reel of a car that I have modelled. I'm not sure what I would like to do and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas to make it interesting, and stand-out from other animations like EA, or Rockstar, have produced with their extensive line of Racing, and Automotive video games.

P.S. I'm trying to keep it within the 3 min. range as that is a good limit that the pros like to see when they are assessing demo reel work.

Thanks everybody!

Well heres the model....I want to obviously show off the model and my strengths in modelling and producing a good final result with just one model in some sort of environment

In under 3 min. (just a reminder)

Hmmm.... I'm not sure how you can make a unique animation of a realistic car. Because it's realistic you pretty much expect realistic movement from a car, accelerate, gear shift, drifting or cornering, weight transfer, etc. Personally I wouldn't feel interested if you're just going to show and animate a car like that because I might as well watch a car show.

So animate it like a cartoony car? Have it stalk or run like an animal? Hard to make it work like that because it's realistic.

Now if you're just making this part of your 'modeling' demo reel then pretty much the kind of animation you're going to do is turning it around and showing it off. No real need for ease in/out, anticipation, overlap, and all those other fancy animation terms. I wouldn't recommend putting too much animation because it might take the focus away from the modeling and into animation. You're going for a modeling job, not animation it seems.

Now what you can do is show it off as if it was a real car. Open the door and show the amazing interior that you modeled and/or open the hood and show a detailed engine. Turn the windshield wipers on or turn the wheels. Again, keep the focus on the modeling.

Hope that helps some and that's a nice model btw :)
